$2M Renovation of The KB-8 Center in Key Biscayne shows unsafe flooding conditions

Teachers Planning day October 24 2014. What do you think the Miami-Dade School District should have done to eliminate this dangerous drop off and pick up for students attending  island community of Key Biscayne? Considering this school was 57 years old on a barrier island what should have FEMA done? It could have stop the $5 Million renovation after Post Katrina regulation were put in place to prevent public buildings from being renovated under the flood for coastal areas. This school has Pre-K and kindergarten aged children attending who can drown in these waters. All residential buildings in The Village require elevated structure to be 15 above the crown of the road.
Imagine this rain on a school day?

If you agree,

call FEMA 1 (800) 621-3362
